The Thailand SPIN is pleased to announce the “Software Testing Workshop by Mr. Lloyd Roden”. The workshop will be held on June 5-7, 2008 from 9:00 to 17:00 hrs., at training room no. 302, 3rd flr., Software Park Thailand.

Special course: Software Testing Workshop
- Risk Based Testing Course.
- Classification Trees and Pairwise Testing – the powerful techniques.

RISK BASED TESTING COURSE
This risk based testing course highlights the importance and benefits that risk based testing can have in an organisation. Through practical exercises, risk assessment approaches are demonstrated, highlighting strengths and weaknesses of each and assessing which will fit the needs of your organisation and the test team.

This course can also be run as a half day workshop as part of an implementation roll-out (educational) process to other departments once a risk approach has been agreed or alternatively as a two day course. Within the two day course, exercises are conducted to show how to create a risk based test strategy, plan and design test cases using risk as the major influence.

Classification Trees and Pairwise Testing – the powerful techniques
Most testers will use the common test design techniques such as Equivalence Partitioning and Boundary Value Analysis during their testing. This session will look at some of the more unusual test design techniques such as Classification Trees, Orthogonal Arrays and Pairwise Testing. Tools and utilities will be demonstrated to help testers in the use of these techniques, helping the tester become more effective and more efficient with their time.

Who Should Attend:

Test managers, team leaders, development mangers, project managers, QA managers, testers and anyone wishing to gain a practical insight into Risk Based testing, Classification Trees and Pairwise testing.

Course Benefit:

RISK BASED TESTING COURSE
Obtain a detailed understanding about risk and its application to testing

• Understanding approaches to risk assessment and vital areas to consider with choosing the approach
• Understand how to adopt a risk-based approach to testing
• Estimate, plan, monitor and control testing on a projectunderpinning risk approach
• Getting the best use of testing techniques
• How to avoid misunderstandings associated with risk based testing

Classification Trees and Pairwise Testing – the powerful techniques
During this 1 day workshop delegates will

• Understand the theory and practice surrounding the following test case design techniques:
• State Transition Testing
• Orthogonal Arrays and Pairwise Testing
• Dispel some of the misunderstandings of these techniques
• Practical outworking of these under-utilised techniques helping testers become more effective and more efficient in their testing. Finding more faults with less effort

Course Outline:

Day 1: Overview of RISK BASED TESTING COURSE and Classification Trees and Pairwise Testing – the powerful techniques

Day 2:
RISK BASED TESTING COURSEWorkshop.

Day 3: Classification Trees and Pairwise Testing – the powerful techniques – Workshop.
